First of all I want to put this picture here. Because BAM
It was delicious.
Now I’m not going to write a post on why you should go eat beef noodles. There are literally hundreds of posts that say the same thing. Traditional. Must have. Blah, blah, blah. SO you already know that part.
What I want to share is something just a little bit different. It’s basically a gush about 1 particular place.
So now that I feel comfortable going out and about ordering things in my freshly learned Chinese (btw we literally just learned the measure words for bowl and ordering sizing so…there is that) I decided that it was time to visit some local spots. And by local I mean holy shit I actually HAD to use my freshly learned Chinese. But thanks to the lady who runs the lunch shop by my house I was actually comfortable in my own skin. I digress…
The place was recommended by my teacher. It’s a 24 hour beef noodle shop that sells for pretty cheap. *90nt for a small, 100nt for a medium and 110nt for a large.* Its called Fuhong Beef Noodles 富宏牛肉麵. BOOM there’s the address:
No. 69, Luoyang Street, Wanhua District, Taipei City, Taiwan 108
The place was packed but the people are nice and the food is good. The beef is tender, the noodles are chewy (QQ) and the broth is way flavorful. Just be aware that it is near Ximen. So it took me a bit to get there since I am near Liuzhangli. But I was fine with that.
Before you get to the shop you pass a few pig rendering stalls and another beef noodle place that has the same name but a different phone number (I don’t know what’s up with that). It’s all well and good but what really caught my eye happened to be these two grandpas sitting off to the side just relaxing in the heat, playing some game that looked a little like checkers. It was pretty classic.
